Personal Trainers

Question from Horace Daft, Nottingham:

Are personal trainers suitable for the elderly?

I am a 74 year old gentleman. Are personal trainers suitable for men my age? Are there any personal trainers that specialise in helping pensioners keep fit and active?

Answer from Freddie Woods, Bristol:

Yes, I think hiring a personal trainer to help keep you fit is perfectly suitable for a man your age. I assume you are already fairly fit, but it might be sensible to consult your doctor about this first in case there are any particular exercises that might not be suitable for you; if there are you can pass this information on to your personal trainer.

I think the training régime your trainer may give you will differ significantly from that of, for example, a 25 year old, but I'm sure you will enjoy being trained all the same!
